„Unite in Diversity: Crossing Borders and Creating the Future of Europe”

European GSI Summer School – 13.9. - 22.9.2019

The European GSI School is an annual event, organised by the Gustav-Stresemann-Institute in Bonn. Partner-institutions such as the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are involved and have been supporting the Summer School for many years.

Participants and Requirements

Thank you very much for your interest in the European GSI Summer School from 13th to 22th September 2019.

Participating in this course can give you a unique possibility to deepen your knowledge of the wide-range issues of European integration. Within an international group of about 60 young Europeans and EU-interested people from various fields and countries, you will attend a varied program of lectures, discussions and a simulation game with the aim of mutual exchange of European perspectives. During the trip to Luxembourg and Brussels, you can engage in dialogue with members of EU institutions and NGO's.

Due to the requests of young Europeans and EU-interested students coming from different countries to participate the Summer School we have designed a certain procedure.

-    Registration deadline extended: 30.6.2019
-    Your CV
-    Your “letter of motivation” telling us more about your wish to participate.

The “letter of motivation” might be a letter. But we also welcome other ways to express your ideas concerning Europe, the European Cooperation. For instance an article, a video, a blog post or a series of pictures..  If you are not sure of how to cope with the “letter of motivation” just answer (briefly!) the questions as follows: Which are the most important challenges the EU is facing 2019?  What does Europe mean to you personally? Is there a book, a movie, a web site, (…) which you highly recommend for all people deeply interested in Europe?

The selection of participants for the 30th European GSI Summer School will be made in June. We will inform you as soon as possible, if you should be one of our participants.

The Summer School is supported by various institutions, which are funding the program. Your share of the participation fee will be 690 EUR. This fee includes all expenses of the 10 days program, accommodation and catering in Bonn, Luxemburg and Brussels, travel expenses from Bonn to Luxembourg and Brussel and vice versa.
