Dr. Heinrich Kreft

German Ambassador to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

Crossing borders is sometimes a most difficult job. Which border would you abolish immediately?

Dr. Heinrich Kreft : Crossing language borders is often a very difficult task, but necessary for further integration of the European Union. The European Council therefore called for action to improve the mastery of basic skills, in particular by teaching at least two foreign languages from a very early age.

Creating the future needs priorities: What is the most important task the EU is facing in the next years?

Dr. Heinrich Kreft : To maintain and strengthen European Unity and a sound economic foundation is an absolute necessity if Europe wants to remain a global player able to put its priorities on the global agenda, like e.g. combating climate change.
